No Stress!! All-wireless environment
No Need Cable
The unique feature of WAZA-AIR BASS is that you can practice bass in an all-wireless environment. Just plug BOSS’s wireless transmitter WL-T into the bass jack, and you can experience a full bass sound from the WAZA-AIR BASS headphones. Currently, WAZA-AIR is the only instrument headphone that has zero latency, which is impossible with commercial Bluetooth headphones.
Bluetooth Audio
The WAZA-AIR BASS can wirelessly connect to a smart device via Bluetooth, meaning it also functions as a Bluetooth wireless headphone. You can play music or videos from sources like YouTube on your smart device while playing the bass. You can play along with your favorite tracks, or practice jam sessions using karaoke tracks available on platforms like YouTube.
Wireless Control
The Bluetooth connection with a smart device isn’t just for audio. With the dedicated app, BOSS TONE STUDIO, which is compatible with both iOS and Android, you can control the EQ, switch amp modeling, and adjust effects.
While detailed settings are possible, there might be instances where launching the app every time for control can be cumbersome. However, the WAZA-AIR BASS device itself has a switch to toggle between six saved tones and a volume knob. Once you’ve set your preferred sound, you can operate using just the device without any issues. Additionally, by using the separately sold pedal EV-1-WL, you can switch tones in real time while playing.
5 types of amps and 30 types of effects for all genre
The amp types include “SUPER FLAT”, “FLAT”, “VINTAGE”, “MODERN”, and “DRIVE”. It can accommodate any genre with adjustments for gain, volume, bass, middle, and treble. The headphones reproduce a spacious sound field, ensuring a pleasant sound. The effects include 30 types, such as compressors, overdrive, EQ, touch-wah, modulations, spatial effects, octaves, bass synth, and ring modulators.
Built-in rhythm patterns For improving your playing
This is a new feature not found in the guitar version of WAZA-AIR. It includes 32 metronome patterns and 10 acoustic drum grooves. In addition to adjusting the BPM and reverb, it also features a metronome with 32 variations, including odd time signatures like 5/4 and 7/4.
Cons of BOSS WAZA-AIR BASS
Gyro sensor is not for everyone
I use the guitar version of WAZA-AIR, but I never use this gyro feature. For example, if you assume there’s an amp in front of you and turn your head to the left, the volume in the right ear increases, and vice versa. It gives you a real amp setting environment, like a stage or studio. But if you want to see your left hand, it sounds louder in your right ear. It is a little bit hassle for serious practice. This feature can be turned off, so it’s not a problem.
Cannot charge simultaneously
The WAZA-AIR body has a plug to insert the wireless device, but it doesn’t charge it. Both the headphones and the wireless transmitter need to be connected to a charging cable, which can be a bit cumbersome.

The VOX VGH-BASS is like a headphone amp that integrates amPlug2 and Audio-Technica headphones. The VOX VGH is stressful so when you have to play with two cables coming out of the headphones. In terms of sound, the VGH-BASS can only produce one tone and is more about sound correction than sound creation. The WAZA-AIR BASS may seem a bit expensive compared to other headphone amps, but if you think of it as a multi-functional small amp that you can use for many years for home practice, it can be a good choice.
